April and Nick Patterson, along with their son, Axel, were recently honored with a Joint Resolution of the Tennessee General Assembly for their support of the agriculture industry in Tennessee.
April’s parents founded Honest Abe Log Homes in 1979. Her mother, Janie Smith, accompanied the family to the Tennessee State Capitol for presentation of the Resolution.
The Resolution pointed out that agriculture has been a cornerstone of Tennessee’s economy since the state’s founding in 1796 and called those citizens involved in agriculture “vital to the Volunteer State.”
“Two such exceptional leaders are Nick and April Patterson of Clay County, who exemplify the very best of the Volunteer State through their support of the agriculture industry in Tennessee,” the Resolution stated, adding that “the success of this state, the strength of its communities and the overall vitality of our society depend in great measure on the dedication of people such as the Pattersons, who have demonstrated a deep respect for tradition and hard work and a love for the land.”
The Resolution stated that the General Assembly, though the Joint Resolution of the House of Representatives and the Senate, agree that it is appropriate to acknowledge and applaud “this worthy couple” and to honor them through the Joint Resolution.
“We extend to them our best wishes for much continued success in all their future endeavors,” the Resolution stated.
