Custom – Alderson

The Alderson is a custom log cabin plan that can be constructed of any of Honest Abe’s log styles or as a timber frame home. Full-length porches flank the front and back of the home. An open downstairs plan offers full access to the kitchen, dining and great room. A master bedroom encompasses a fill bath. The second floor features a loft that overlooks the great room.

The three-story, four bedroom, two-bath, 2,800-square-foot Alderson cabin features a heavy timber roof system, solid wood windows, 8” interlocking round Eastern White Pine logs, full-length front and back porches, a loft and a full finished basement. A local stonemason used indigenous stone for covering the exposed basement and building exterior steps.

This home was conceived of and built by longtime Honest Abe Independent Dealers Mike Alderson and his late wife, Maria Alderson. The Aldersons’ lakeside cabin in Arkansas was featured in Log Cabin Homes magazine in November 2017. Maria shared the story of the cabin’s planning and building along with some of her memories of summers there with her children.
