Small Log Cabins

Under 1,000 - 1,400 SF Log Cabins

Small and tiny log cabin floor plans are designed to for convenience and coziness. These homes offer a change to enjoy log home living whether as a vacation home, hunting cabin or downsized or starter residence.

Each of these floor plans under 1,000 - 1,400 SF may be modified to the specifications of the individual homeowner. The resulting custom floor plan will be used by Honest Abe Log Homes to manufacture a custom log cabin kit. The log home package is delivered to the customer’s property so that the log cabin builders can begin to construct tiny home.

Small log cabins are usually created as one bedroom or two bedroom plans with a simple, space-saving interior layout. A variety of exterior designs may be employed, including extra-wide covered porches, patios and decks to expand living space.

Some small log cabin plans may be designed with the great room, dining area and kitchen open. Bedrooms are private, and usually one full bath is shared by all. However, a plan can be customized to include additional facilities. Some tiny home owners combine a powder room with a utility room.

Tiny homes and small cabins can have either a Heavy Timber, Conventional Rafter or Conventional Truss roof system.

Like all Honest Abe floor plans, any tiny log cabin can be created as a log cabin, timber frame home or hybrid home. Materials like structural insulated panels (SIP) can be combined with logs and timbers to create a truly distinctive home (or commercial structure).

Medium Log Homes

1,400-2,000 SF Log Home Floor Plans

Medium-sized log cabin floor plans are designed to meet the practical needs and visual desires of customers wanting a log home.

Each of these floor plans between 1,400 and 2,000 SF may be modified to the specifications of the individual homeowner. The resulting custom floor plan will be used by Honest Abe Log Homes to manufacture a custom log cabin kit. The log home package is delivered to the customer’s property so that the log cabin builders can begin to construct the forever home.
Most medium-sized log cabins are created from two bedroom or three bedroom plans with a variety of interior layouts and exterior designs.
Some log cabin plans have wrap-around porches, dormers, decks or walk-out basements. Inside, the home may be designed with the great room, dining area and kitchen open. Other plans have a more formal layout with the dining room and kitchen separate from the living room.
Full utility rooms are not uncommon with medium-sized floor plans. However, some plans have a laundry closet adjacent to a kitchen or bedroom. Medium-sized floor plans can have either a Heavy Timber, Conventional Rafter or Conventional Truss roof system.

Each of these floor plans between 2,000 and 3,000 SF may be modified to the specifications of the individual homeowner. The resulting custom floor plan will be used by Honest Abe Log Homes to manufacture a custom log cabin kit. The log home package is delivered to the customer’s property so that the log cabin builders can begin to construct the forever home.

Most large log cabins are created from three bedroom or four bedroom plans with a variety of interior layouts and exterior designs.

Some log cabin plans have wrap-around porches, dormers, decks or walk-out basements. Inside, the home may be designed with the great room, dining area and kitchen open. Other plans have a more formal layout with the dining room and kitchen separate from the living room.

Spacious utility rooms, mud rooms with showers and garages attached by an enclosed breezeway may be found in large floor plans. Many large log home plans have a second story – some with a loft open to the great room below and many with extra bedrooms and a full bath.

Large log cabin plans offer a choice of a Heavy Timber, a Conventional Rafter or a Conventional Truss roof system.
