Enhance your holiday season with a Christmas visit to Honest Abe’s model log homes at Crossville Honest Abe Log Homes and the Cookeville Honest Abe Log Homes.

The homes have been decorated by Molly Cooper, interior designer with Cooper & Co. Designs.

“Each log home is decorated in a way that compliments the home itself,” explained Cooper.

By appointment only, guests are invited to tour the log homes decorated for the holidays. It’s requested that visitors wear a mask, and every effort will be made to accommodate social distancing.

“We wanted to offer a chance for people to experience a little Christmas outside their own home,” said Josh Beasley, president of Honest Abe Log Homes. “We know this is a trying time for everyone, so we’re offering a few minutes of escape in a very controlled, safe environment.”

The Cambridge, Honest Abe Crossville’s centerpiece model, is a 2,900-square-foot, two-story dovetailed D-log home surrounded by 1,700 square feet of porches. This award-winning floor plan incorporates both log and timber frame design.

The Bellewood Model, one of three log homes on the Cookeville Honest Abe Log Homes campus, is a 3,215-square-foot, two-story house with three-bedrooms, two-and-one-half baths, a 52′ front porch with two side porches and full-length back deck.

“While the Cambridge boasts of holiday elegance with reds and golds and hints of glitter here and there, visit the Bellewood model for a more natural Christmas look with deer antlers in the tree and scattered throughout,” Cooper said, adding, that “each has house design all its own.”

While in Crossville, step into the sales center’s original model home, The Frontier, a dovetailed chinked square log two-story cabin built in 1991.

“This beautiful cabin is now an office,” said Wayne Brady, sales representative for Honest Abe Crossville. “The cozy structure demonstrates how our log homes stand the test of time.”

Alongside Cookeville’s Bellewood model is the Algood model, a classic design favored by those who love the feel of a mountain vacation cabin all year round.

Melissa Watson, sales representative for Honest Abe in Cookeville, pointed out that the decorations at the Cookeville models evoke a nostalgic feeling.

“The use of cotton, antlers, pinecones, greenery and wood give the place a “homey” atmosphere,” Watson observed.

Cookeville’s sales center includes a retail establishment, The Mill Storehouse, which was created from Honest Abe’s original model home, a dovetailed, chinked square log, design. There’s also an Honest Abe tiny house log and timber structure that completes The Mill Storehouse retail shopping complex. Safety measures are in place for customers.

The 2,396-square-foot Busch plan was created by Honest Abe homeowners to serve their needs for many to come. The couple is sharing their plan with Honest Abe customers who desire a home with all the living space on one floor.

The home is entered straight into the great room from an inset covered porch. The great room has a vaulted ceiling. It flows into the dining area in the rear that is open to the kitchen. The kitchen has a work island with bar seating and a walk-in pantry.

The master bedroom suite with a walk-in closet and master bath off the dining room is its own “wing.” On the opposite side of the great room is a second bedroom with a full bath immediately adjacent. That region of the home contains a large laundry, storage and work area, including cabinets and a double sink through which the three-car garage is accessed.

A third bedroom with a walk-in closet at the end of the deck can be converted to an office.

On the second floor a 15’x21 foot loft overlooks the great room.
