A variety of log and timber frame homes will be open to the public on Aug. 25 during the fall tour 2018 hosted by Honest Abe Log Homes Cookeville. The tour includes several Honest Abe log homes and timber frame homes constructed across four decades. The featured log homes are all distinctly different and are of of different sizes ranging from a tiny home to a large two-story. Two additional homes are timber frames – one that was completed three years ago and one that is currently under construction.
The tour, which begins at 10 a.m. at Honest Abe Cookeville on Hwy. 111 North, is free, but reservations are required. The office opens at 9 a.m., so registered guests may come early to be treated to refreshments as they tour the recently redecorated Cookeville model homes, one of which was created using the Algood floor plan and the other using the Bellewood plan. Other tour homes will open promptly at 10 a.m. A map has been designed to guide guests so that there will be ample time to see all the homes by 2 p.m. All registered tour goers will receive a 20% coupon good for a purchase at The Mill Store House, a retail shop located in a vintage Honest Abe Log Home and an Honest Abe tiny home.
